Sleeping in with Buddy.

I took this early one Saturday morning last June (2014), it was one of our last weekends in Lynden, though I didn’t know it at the time.

The kiddos love to sleep in the living room, and we loved the light greeting us in the mornings over Mt. Baker. The nostalgia of this photo is at odds with what we were actually experiencing at the time. Tender, quiet moments like this are the highlights I cherish.

The plush doll you see there is Ellie’s best friend, Buddy. She placed him there carefully because he’s gotten so fragile over the years.

Sitting in a meeting with my daughter’s teachers, I snapped a shot of the carpet. While it’s not the most exciting subject, it is strangely nostalgic, and it just might make a useful texture. 🙂
